Community Concert Coordinator
Overview
The Community Concert Coordinator is a member of the four-person Music Office team. The Music Office staff serve as a resource for the entire Festival and work closely with students and faculty on many aspects of Festival operations. The Community Concert Coordinator reports to the Director of Admissions and Operation and works closely with the other seasonal and year-round staff. The ideal candidate will enjoy engaging with public audience members, have experience organizing events or concerts, and be a collaborative team player.
Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of the Community Concert Series
- Work with community venues to manage concert logistics
- Coordinate performers and schedule programming for all Community Concerts
- Develop activities and lead audience engagement for Family Series concerts
- Create printed programs for Community Concerts
- Transport students to venues
- Serve as Festival ambassador at concert venues and engage with audience members
- Ensure that concerts run smoothly and efficiently
Assist with all Music Office tasks
- Serve as a general resource for students and faculty
- Staff student registration
- Assist with luthier visits as needed
- Assist with mail processing as needed
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Background in music performance or study
- Experience as a teaching artist or in music education preferred
- Experience creating kid-friendly music programming preferred
- Comfort working with a diverse body of students, faculty, and staff
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Highly collaborative and flexible team player
- Strong attention to detail and proofing skills
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Google Suite)
- Proficient in English
- A valid US driver’s license and ability to drive a twelve-passenger van
Time Expectations
Most work will be done weekdays between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Flexibility required during busy periods, which may entail working nights, weekends, and holidays.

Compensation
- Salary: $600/week
- On-campus meal plan in Bowdoin’s award-winning dining hall (3 meals a day)
- On-campus housing (private room)
