Events & Content Coordinator

Overview

The Events & Content Coordinator plays an integral role in the execution of approximately five special donor events and works closely with Festival staff to increase public visibility and engagement via marketing efforts. The ideal candidate will have experience connecting with audience members during events and concerts, be proficient in marketing tools and platforms, and be a collaborative team player. The Coordinator will report to both the Director of Development and Director of Admissions of Operations and work closely with seasonal and year-round staff.  

Responsibilities

Events

  • Work with the Director of Development to prepare for and execute special events, including: annual Scholarship Gala, Student-Sponsor Brunch, Trustee-Faculty Dinner, and other donor events. Responsibilities may include creating name tags, programs, and transporting students to events. 
  • Manage Box Office “Will Call” tickets at Subscription Series concerts.
  • Serve as a Festival ambassador at Community Concerts, post-concert receptions, and Farmers Market, as needed. 
  • Perform all other duties as assigned. 

Content Creation

  • Work with Director of Admissions and Operations to send out 4–6 email blasts per week (MailChimp) and weekly press releases. 
  • Manage the Festival’s social media channels and develop engaging content. 
  • Assist Photographer with photo and video projects. 
  • Assist with postering throughout Midcoast Maine. 
  • Add Festival events to community calendar listings. 
  • Perform all other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • Background or strong interest in music.  
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. 
  • Highly collaborative and flexible team player. 
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks, close attention to detail. 
  • Ability to work respectfully with a diverse body of students, faculty, and staff. 
  • Strong computer and technology skills, especially with Microsoft Office and Google suites. 
  • Experience using social platforms and mass email tools. 
  • Proficient in English (speaking, writing). 
  • Photo and video skills (preferred). 
  • Valid US driver’s license and ability to drive a twelve-passenger van (preferred).  

Time Expectations

Considerable flexibility is required, as many of the concerts and events take place during evenings and weekends.

  • June 22 – August 12, 2025 

Compensation

  • Salary: $600/week 
  • On-campus meal plan in Bowdoin’s award-winning dining hall (3 meals a day) 
  • On-campus housing (private room)
