Program Coordinator

Overview

The Program Coordinator is a member of the four-person Music Office team. The Music Office staff serve as a resource for the entire Festival and work closely with students and faculty on many aspects of Festival operations. The Program Coordinator reports to the Director of Admissions and Operations and works closely with the other seasonal and year-round staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music, excellent writing and proofing skills, and be a collaborative team player. 

Responsibilities

Festival Program Creation

  • Create, edit, and proof programs for Festival concerts, including the Subscription Series and Young Artists Series 
  • Manage efficient proofing process with other members of the Music Office 
  • Work closely with Bowdoin College print shop on program production 
  • Update program info on Festival website 
  • Manage, track, and review Young Artist concert applications 

Music Office Responsibilities

  • Serve as a general resource for students and faculty 
  • Staff student registration 
  • Assist with luthier visits as needed 
  • Assist with mail processing as needed 
  • Perform all other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

  • Background in music performance or study 
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills 
  • Excellent English writing, editing, and proofing skills 
  • Comfort working with a diverse body of students, faculty, and staff 
  • Highly collaborative and flexible team player 
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks 
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Google Suite, MailChimp) 
  • A valid US driver’s license and ability to drive a twelve-passenger van 

Time Expectations

Most work will be done in the office weekdays between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Flexibility required during busy periods, which may entail working nights, weekends, and holidays.

Compensation

  • Salary: $600/week
  • On-campus meal plan in Bowdoin’s award-winning dining hall (3 meals a day)
  • On-campus housing
