Program Overview: The Festival’s summer String Quartet Fellowship is a fully-funded opportunity for pre-formed string quartets, open to college-age students and older. The program offers mentorship from faculty, guest quartets, and in-residence quartets for an intensive exploration of string quartet repertoire. In addition to rehearsal and study, the quartet will have the opportunity to perform in our subscription series, as part of the Young Artist Series, and serve as chamber music ambassadors throughout Midcoast Maine. In-residence mentors: Ying Quartet, Jupiter String Quartet

Balourdet Quartet
One of the most invaluable things for a young quartet is time to be together and time to rehearse, and we think it is so incredible that Bowdoin housed us together in a big beautiful apartment and provided a lifestyle where we can get up and rehearse all morning and receive coachings throughout the afternoon. It’s amazing to have such freedom to work on our craft and play for so many dedicated faculty.
