String Quartet Fellowship Featurette
Applications are open for the Festival’s String Quartet Fellowship, an opportunity for emerging pre-formed string quartets to have a fully-funded immersive summer experience together. The program is geared to accomplished players with multiple years playing and growing as an ensemble. String Quartet Fellows will work closely with Artistic Directors David Ying and Phillip Ying to create an individualized program of training with the Festival’s faculty and guest artists.
In this short video, the Balourdet Quartet, who recently won third prize at the Banff International String Quartet Competition, and David Ying & Phillip Ying talk about the coaching and performance opportunities of this special Festival program.
This summer the String Quartet Fellows will be in residence from June 24 – August 5, 2023. While here, they will enjoy six weeks of intensive chamber music study, collaboration, and performances for audiences in Brunswick, Maine and throughout the Midcoast region.
Interested artists can learn more about our the program and apply on our String Quartet Fellowship page.
